Philippe Le Billon

Professor, Geography Department and School of Public Policy & Global Affairs, University of British Columbia

MBA and PhD in Geography, working on linkages between environment, development and security. Previously Research Associate with ODI, IISS, UNU-WIDER, and Fulbright Research Chair at UC Berkeley. Fieldwork in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Published widely on natural resource governance including Oil (Polity Press, 2017 with Gavin Bridge) and Wars of Plunder: Conflicts, Profits and the Politics of Resources (Oxford UP, 2013).
