Phillip M. Carter

Phillip M. Carter (PhD, Duke University) is a sociolinguist and scholar of language and culture in immigrant and ethnolinguistic minority communities. He has published in leading academic journals in his fields and has appeared as an expert on topics related to language, politics, and immigration on CNNEE, Telemundo, and has written for CNN.com and the Miami Herald. He is co-author of Languages in the World: How History, Culture, and Politics Shape Language.
