Photis Lysandrou

Research Professor in Political Economy, City, University of London

Photis Lysandrou is Research Professor at City University Political Economy Research Centre (CITYPERC), Department of International Politics, City University of London. He has published widely on global political economy and on the global financial crisis. His book ‘Commodity: The Global Commodity System in the 21st Century’ was published by Routledge in the autumn of 2018. In it, he argues that income dispersion and wealth concentration can be held responsible for the 2008 financial crisis and believes that a powerful global tax body, which he suggests creating, would help to recoup large amounts of money that are lost through tax avoidance and exile.
