Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice, City, University of London

Katrin Hohl is Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice at City, University of London. She is an expert in criminal justice responses to sexual and domestic violence, and has worked extensively with police forces in England and Wales. Her research has examined the attrition processes through which reports of rape fail to result in a full police investigation, charge and prosecution, as well as the police response to domestic violence and abuse, including during the Covid-19 pandemic. The second strand of her research centres on public trust in the police, police legitimacy, compliance with the law and cooperation with the police.

She is the joint academic of Operation Soteria Bluestone (jointly with Prof Stanko OBE), a Home Office funded, National Police Chiefs Council led-police-academic collaboration working to transform how police handle rape cases
