Professor the Hon Kevin Bell AM KC is a former justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, president of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Appeals Tribunal, director of the Castan Centre for Human Rights Law at Monash University (where he taught International Human Rights Law and Indigenous Rights) and royal commissioner with the Yoorrook Justice Commission. He was a leading native title advocate who appeared on behalf of the Yawuru People and the Bardi Jawi People in their successful claims in the Kimberly region of Western Australia.
Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for 'significant service to the law and to the judiciary, to native title and human rights, and the community'; finalist, Australian Human Rights Medal of the Australian Human Rights Commission, 2021.
