Assistant professor in Criminology at the University of Nottingham. Research expertise lies in community sanctions and measures, criminal sentencing, governance and social control, comparative criminal justice, and Chinese studies. Author of Governance, Social Control and Legal Reform in China: Community Sanctions and Measures (Palgrave Macmillan 2018). Winner of the Asian Criminological Society Dintinguished Book Prize 2019. Non-practicing attorney in China.
