I completed my PhD at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, and I am currently a post-doc fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Human Development at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. My current research activities seek to understand how young adolescents navigate their social and digital worlds against the backdrop of rapid urbanisation, technological advancements, a global pandemic, economic inequality, and violence. To understand the challenges facing young South Africans, I use storytelling and technology to capture their lived experiences. My awards and accolades include being the recipient of several national grants, and I was a national finalist in one of the largest science communication competitions in the world, Famelab.
