Radha O'Meara

Dr Radha O'Meara has been Lecturer in Screenwriting in the School of Culture and Communication at the University of Melbourne since 2015.

Radha combines creative practice in writing with research into screen cultures, screen industries and screen aesthetics. Her critical research focuses on serial storytelling and industrial authorship in contemporary film and television. She is a disabled academic and co-author of 'Disability and Screen Work in Australia: Report for Industry' (2023). Radha co-edited 'TV Transformations & Transgressive Women: From Prisoner: Cell Block H to Wentworth' (Peter Lang 2022). She has published on soap operas, superheroes and cat videos. She teaches subjects Writing for Screen, Advanced Screenwriting and Serial Storytelling.
