Rafael Alves Batista

Postdoctoral research associate, University of Oxford

I currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford working on the "Consolidation of Fine-Tuning" project. Broadly speaking, “fine-tuning” is the idea that the laws of physics are such that small changes in fundamental constants or other properties such as particle masses might render life impossible.

I also actively working in the search for the highest energy particles in the universe, the ultra-high-energy cosmic rays, and I am interested in understanding the origin and evolution of magnetic fields in the universe. I am also interested in physics and astronomy education, and the philosophy of physics.
