Vice Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow, RMIT University

Rebecca Olive is a Vice Chancellor's Senior Research Fellow in the Social and Global Studies Centre at RMIT University, where she researches the role of recreational sport and physical activities in human-ocean health and well-being, and the gender politics of sport. Her most recent work, 'Moving Oceans', focuses on how participation in sports like surfing and ocean swimming orients people's relationships to coastal and ocean ecologies. Her work uses ethnographic methods, including participation and interviews, and includes online spaces, such as Instagram and Facebook.
