Rebecca Williamson

Research Officer, Australian National University

Rebecca is a Research Associate at the Social Policy Research Centre, University of New South Wales. She is also affiliated with the School of Sociology at the Australian National University (ANU) and has worked on interdisciplinary projects with the ANU Medical School and National Centre for Epidemiology and Public Health (NCEPH) at ANU.

Rebecca's research interests include maternal health and community wellbeing in times of crisis and climate change, geographies of mothering and care, migration, everyday multiculturalism, and urban ethnography. She was awarded her PhD from the University of Sydney, Department of Sociology and Social Policy, in 2015 for her study of place-making practices and mundane multiculture in a culturally diverse neighbourhood in Sydney.

Rebecca also worked as a researcher on the Social Transformation and International Migration Project (University of Sydney). She has also worked as a consultant contributing to research projects on transnationalism, temporary migration and gender equity.
