Critical Psychologist and Specialist Mental Health Mentor, Leeds Beckett University

My research interests are in feminist subjectivities, postfeminism, popular feminism, individualisation, neoliberalism.

I completed my doctorate in psychology in May 2018. My thesis was an exploration of young women's relationship with feminism. One of my key findings was that it is less a case of "I'm not a feminist but.." but rather "But can I call myself a feminist", as young women were unsure whether they could call themselves feminist if they hadn't participated in any activism.

I currently contribute teaching on qualitative research methods at undergraduate and postgraduate level to Nutrition and Dietetics students at Leeds Beckett University. I am also currently working as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor at University of Leeds, providing one-to-one support to students with mental health difficulties and/or disabilities.
