RMIT Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Professor of Law at the University of Houston, RMIT University

Professor Renee Knake is the 2019 Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. Her permanent academic home is the University of Houston Law Center, where she holds the endowed Doherty Chair in Legal Ethics.

Her award-winning scholarship (three books and over 20 articles) has been cited in briefs before the US Supreme Court, prestigious law reviews such as the Yale Law Journal, and a range of media including Bloomberg Law, the American Lawyer, the Christian Science Monitor, CNN, Forbes, the Houston Chronicle, National Public Radio, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal.

She is an elected-member of the American Law Institute and previously served as a delegate to the World Economic Form Global Agenda Councils on Justice and Rule of Law. She was named as an American Bar Association Journal “Legal Rebel” and a member of the Fastcase50 for her work on entrepreneurship and innovation in legal services. She has been invited to speak about access-to-justice and innovation in Australia, Canada, England, Guatemala, Mexico, United Arab Emirates and the United States.
