Richard Hudson-Miles

Senior Lecturer in Critical and Contextual Studies, Leeds Beckett University

I am an interdisciplinary researcher and educator, with over 15 years experience teaching the history and theory of design. I hold a PhD in Art and Design and an MA in the History of Art. My research covers the history of design, aesthetics, radical social theory and the sociology of art and design education.

I am an expert in the philosophy of Jacques Rancière and will shortly be publishing an introduction to his work for Routledge. I am currently interested in the decentralising and democratic potential of web 3.0, cryptocurrency, blockchain and the metaverse for the creative industries. I am also generally interested in the relationship between design and social justice, decolonisation, ecology, and sustainability.
