Senior Scientist, CSIRO

Rick is a freshwater scientist with over a decade of experience working with resource managers to develop a predictive understanding of how freshwater animals respond to environmental change. Rick uses whatever approach is appropriate - descriptive studies; experiments; mathematical models - to reduce uncertainty around how aquatic animal populations will be affected by natural and anthropogenic change. His recent research interests include adaptive management of riverine flows, and the impacts of water quality and climate change on aquatic fauna, as well as knowledge transfer to management.
