Robert Carolina

Executive Director, Institute for Cyber Security Innovation, Royal Holloway

Robert Carolina is the Executive Director of the Institute for Cyber Security Innovation at Royal Holloway University of London. He is responsible for identifying and securing opportunities where academic capability can address unmet cyber security needs. Robert also delivers the legal and regulatory aspects of cyber security module for the university's MSc degree in information security.

Robert is also a practicing solicitor with extensive expertise in negotiating and drafting complex technology-related services and partnering agreements. He advises on managing ICT-related law and regulatory risk, including data protection, interception, and online banking and payment systems. Career highlights include in-house counsel with a US-based Internet software start-up, lawyer with Clifford Chance, and partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers legal services.

Robert is a graduate of the University of Dayton (BA, 1988), Georgetown University Law Center (Juris Doctor, 1991), and the London School of Economics (LL.M International Business Law, 1993).
