Senior Visiting Fellow, City St George's, University of London

Robert is a Senior Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School and a member of the International Politics Department at City University, London. He teaches on the Cass MBA programme and the Global Political Economy MA programme at City.

He also advises organisations in the areas of global foresight, strategy and the management of change.

Robert's interests focus upon helping business leaders to explore the ambiguities and uncertainties presented by a new, emerging, multipolar world. His latest book, 'The Era of Global Transition: Crises and opportunities in the new world' (Palgrave, November 2012) provides readers with a new framework to both explore the future and to define the implications for their organisations.

Robert earned his PhD at Cass. His research was set during the recession of the early 1990s and examined how business leaders rapidly turned around large, mature organisations to face new competitive challenges. He also has an MBA (CNAA) and is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

In addition to The Era of Global Transition, his publications include:

Davies, R (2012) Strategy and the New Uncertainty, in J. Verity (ed) The New Strategic Landscape: Innovative perspectives on strategy, Houndmills: Palgrave pp. 31-51
