Robert G Lingard

Adjunct Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Health, Southern Cross University

Robert views his research and social engagement through various lenses. His primary degree is a BSc with Honours in Human Genetics, after which he was awarded a Bachelor Divinity. Robert's doctoral research investigated Australians' attitudes to the potential implementation of human reproductive cloning during public policy debates (1997-2006). Robert has worked in hospital laboratories as a scientific officer in the field of immunology and tissue culture. He also works as a congregational leader in a Christian church, having held positions in NSW and Queensland. Within the university context, Robert has been a Chaplain and filled national and international leadership roles. He has also been engaged in teaching social theory and qualitative research methods, and sits on the Southern Cross University's (SCU) Human Research Ethics Committee. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Health (Southern Cross University) and serves on the Steering Committee of Dementia Inclusive Ballina Alliance Inc. Robert is a Critical Realist, seeking to understand mechanisms of causation that impact human social problems, and to contribute to their resolution.
