Roberto Perin

A native of Montréal, Roberto Perin is Professor Emeritus in the History Department and at the School of Public and International Affairs, Glendon College, York University. His publications deal with religion, immigration, and Québec. In addition to co-edited works, his books include Rome in Canada: the Vatican and Canadian Affairs in the Late Victorian Age (1990), winner of the John W. Dafoe Book Prize, and The Many Rooms of This House: Diversity in Toronto’s Places of Worship Since 1840 (2017), winner of the Heritage Toronto Book Award. In French, he is the author of Ignace de Montréal artisan d’une identité nationale. He is currently writing a social history of immigrants from the Italian province of Pesaro to Québec in the 20th century.
