Rodolfo Galvan Estrada III

Rodolfo Galvan Estrada III is the Assistant Professor of the New Testament at Vanguard University. He has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies from Regent University, holds two master’s degrees from Duke University, and has done post-doctoral work in Classics at Villanova University.

He has served as an adjunct professor at various colleges and seminaries including Fuller Theological Seminary, Portland Seminary of George Fox University, Northwest University, and LABI College.

His main area of research is on the gospel of John, the letter of Jude, race and ethnicity in ancient Greece and Rome, and Latino/a hermeneutics.

Estrada has published numerous peer-reviewed journals with Horizons of Biblical Theology, Journal of Evangelical Theology, Perspectivas: The Journal of the Hispanic Theological Initiative, PentecoStudies, Pneuma, and the Journal of Pentecostal Studies. He also writes for a popular audience where many of his articles have been published in Christianity Today, the Houston Chronicle, Yahoo News, and the AG Influence Magazine.

His latest monograph "A Latino Reading of Kinship, Ethnicity, and the Empire: John’s Prologue" is published with Palgrave McMillian (2023) and "A Pneumatology of Race in the Gospel of John: An Ethnocritical Study" with Pickwick (2019).

Married to his wife Jessica Estrada for over 19 years, they together enjoy tea, coffee, hiking, and camping. They reside in Fontana, California.
