Postdoctoral Fellow, Faculty of Science and Office of the Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning), McMaster University

I'm currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Science and Office of the Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning)at McMaster University. I have a PhD in Earth and Environmental Sciences where my research focused on glacial environments in Perú and Iceland using a variety of approaches and methodologies such as sedimentology and landsystem analysis to understand the role in which these environments play in glacial hazards. I also completed a graduate diploma from the collaborative program Water Without Borders between the United Nations University - Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) and McMaster University.
I currently teach various interdisciplinary courses including: Introduction to Earth and Environmental Sciences; Latin American and Latinx Studies; Foundations of Community Engagement and various research seminars that connect health, environment and society.
I also have a passion for undergraduate teaching with an emphasis on experiential and reflective-based teaching. I've taught undergraduate courses on water issues, environmental issues and geography of Latin America where I also implement anti-racist pedagogies.
