Roger Hopkins Burke

Principal Lecturer in Criminology, Nottingham Trent University

Roger Hopkins Burke is Principal Lecturer in Criminology. He provides academic leadership and support to the Sociology Division in the area of scholarship, research and publication.

Roger was a junior manager in the civil service before being a mature entrant to academia. His first post was as a researcher at the then Trent Polytechnic working initially with Professor Nick Tilley between 1988 and 1994.

He was a Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the Scarman Centre for the Study of Public Order at the University of Leicester between 1994 and 1999 where he played a significant part in the creation of the successful Masters' programme by distance learning and commenced his successful publishing career.
