Rose Okoyo Opiyo

Rose Okoyo Opiyo is a Public Health Nutrition specialist. She teaches and mentors undergraduate and graduate students on nutrition-related courses and research methods at the School of Public Health, University of Nairobi, Kenya. Her research areas of interest are maternal and child nutrition, school child nutrition, Nutrition and HIV/AIDS, nutrition-non-communicable disease link and food security. Her most recently completed research are: Fish oil omega-3 fatty acids and depression among HIV-infected pregnant women (2015); Childhood Obesity in Kenya (2018) and Dietary prescription adherence among adults with chronic kidney disease (2019). Currently her on-going research focuses on diet and non-communicable diseases in older adults (2020/2021).
