Rowan's teaching practice centers on the idea that science education provides students with the tools to solve problems by giving them the ability to think critically and creatively about the world around them. By combining science with leadership and entrepreneurship she aims to close the gap between what science know and society does.
She is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences, where she is the Director of Education and the Course Director of the Bachelor of Science Advanced - Global Challenges (Honours).
This is a undergraduate degree that weaves together a unique blend of science with leadership, entrepreneurship, communication, policy and business. In this degree she teaches her students the art and science of making a positive change in the world.
