Roy Andrew Quinlan

Professor in the school of biological and biomedical sciences, Durham University

I am Professor of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Durham UK. I have worked on the eye lens and mechanisms of cataractogenesis for the past 20 years. Since August 2015 I joined the board of Fight for Sight UK, the leading funder of eye research in the UK. In 2007 I helped found the interdisciplinary research institute, the Biophysical Sciences Institute and much on my research embraces the interface between biology, physics and chemistry because of the many excellent colleagues in Durham with whom I collaborate.
