Russell Williams

Researcher in French Studies and Comparative Literature, University of London Institute in Paris

My research, conducted at the University of London Institute in Paris, is primarily concerned with contemporary French fiction, particularly that of the novelist Michel Houellebecq. Additional research interests include critical theory, French cinema of the Nouvelle Vague, contemporary visual art and the Parisian noise/music scenes. I co-edited the volume 'Autour de l'extrême littéraire’ (CSP, 2012) and am currently working on a volume on ‘Intoxication and literature’ for publication in 2015. I presently teach in the Comparative Literature department at the American University of Paris.
