Ruth Ferrero Turrión

Profesora de Ciencia Política en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid e Investigadora Adscrita al Instituto Complutense de Estudios Internacionales (ICEI).

Ruth Ferrero-Turrión es Profesora de Ciencia Política y Estudios Europeos en la UCM e Investigadora Adscrita en el Instituto Complutense de Estudios Internacionales en la Universidad Complutense (ICEI-UCM) donde dirige los Diplomas Migraciones y Relaciones Internacionales, Las políticas de inmigración y asilo de la UE, y Nuevos Escenarios en los Balcanes. Forma parte del Grupo de Investigación Complutense GEMI de Migraciones Internacionales. Ha sido Premio Europeo de Investigación Carlos V 2019 por la Fundación Europea e Iberoamericana de Yuste y Non-Visegrad Fellow de V4 Think Tank Platform en 2018.

Además de sus tareas como profesora, desarrolla su trabajo profesional como consultora con instituciones y organizaciones como FIIAP, European Training Foundation, Migration Policy Group, Migration Policy Institute, Instrategies, y OIM entre otros.

Ha sido Research Fellow en la Universidad de Columbia (NYC), en London School of Economics (LSE), Babes-Bolyai University (Romania), Hungarian Institute of International Relations y Open Society Foundation de Sofia, y Senior Fellow del Institute of International Relations (IIR) de Praga. También ha sido Profesora Visitante en las Universidades de Bochum (Alemania), Coimbra (Portugal) y Varsovia (Polonia).

Ha trabajado en labores de asesoría política en el marco de la Administración General del Estado, en el Gabinete del Ministro de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales (2004-2006) y en el Gabinete del Presidente del Gobierno (2006-2011). En ambos puestos desempeñó funciones relacionadas con políticas migratorias y políticas europeas sectoriales.

Colabora como analista de política internacional y europea en El Periódico. También colabora con otros medios de comunicación como Esglobal, www.ctxt.es, Política Exterior y La Noche en 24h y en think tanks nacionales (Real Instituto Elcano, Fundación Alternativas) e internacionales (Migration Policy Institute, Institute of International Relations Prague).

Ruth Ferrero-Turrión is Professor of Political Science and European Studies at UCM and Research Associate at the Complutense Institute for International Studies at Complutense University (ICEI-UCM) where she directs the Diplomas in Migration and International Relations, Immigration and Asylum Policies at the EU, and New Scenarios in the Balkans. It is part of the GEMI Complutense Research Group on International Migration. She has been the Carlos V European Research Prize 2019 by the European and Ibero-American Foundation of Yuste and Non-Visegrad Fellow of V4 Think Tank Platform in 2018.

In addition to her tasks as a teacher, she develops her professional work as a consultant with institutions and organizations such as FIIAP, European Training Foundation, Migration Policy Group, Migration Policy Institute, Instrategies, and OIM, among others.

In both positions she carried out functions related to migration policies and European sectoral policies.

She collaborates as an analyst of international and European politics in El Periódico. It also collaborates with other media such as Esglobal, www.ctxt.es, Política Exterior and La Noche en 24h and national think tanks (Real Instituto Elcano, Fundación Alternativas) and international (Migration Policy Institute, Institute of International Relations Prague).
