Professor of Political Theory, Soka University

I am Professor of Political Theory at Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Soka University, Tokyo, Japan. I received Ph. D. from University of Sheffield, UK, in 2003. I am interested in contemporary democratic theory from the perspective of mass society theory in 20th Century, especially that of Karl Mannheim. I am also studying feminist political theory, and I translated Carole Pateman's The Disorder of Women in Japanese language. My experiences in book translation into Japanese includes Chantal Mouffe's The Return of the Political, David Held's Democracy and the Global Order, Michael Kenny's The Politics of Identity, etc.
