Safeera Hussainy

Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice, Monash University

Dr Safeera Hussainy graduated from Monash University (BPharm(Hons) in 2001 and PhD in 2007) and was appointed to the position of Lecturer at Monash University in 2009 and Stream Leader (Pharmacy Practice) in 2011. Safeera teaches Communication, Public Health and Palliative Care. Her research interests include women’s health in particular emergency contraception, palliative care, health literacy, aged care and e-health. From 2008-12, Safeera has been involved in projects in these areas that have attracted $1.7 million in funding. She is the author of over a dozen peer-reviewed journal and continuing professional development articles, and has presented her work to date at multiple international and national conferences.
