I research the practice of making games for mental health. Drawing on my extensive background in the multimedia arts and film, I harness arts-based methods to collaborate with marginalized, underserved communities. I am currently the lead researcher of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Insight Development Grant exploring autobiographical game design as a sense-making tool for youth living with an opioid addiction. This project examines the practice of making games as a modality for building community health, and tool for fighting the stigma and social isolation surrounding substance use.
