I am a former secondary PE teacher, who moved into the world of academia with a focus on gender, youth and identity, set in the context of education. I am an ESRC-funded post-doctoral fellow at Durham University and I am committed to activist principles and to improving young people's experiences of being active in practice.
Outside of academia, I am the director of a charity (The Perfect Day Foundation) that works to promote sport and education for young people in Zambia, a primary school governor, and a GB age-group triathlete.
