Sarah R. Olutola

Dr. Sarah Olutola is the Assistant Professor of Writing at Lakehead University. After graduating the department of English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University, she went on to become the 2018-2019 Gordon F. Henderson Postdoctoral Fellow and ongoing member of Ottawa University’s Human Rights Research and Education Centre. Her current research concerns writing and children's literature, youth culture, representations of race in popular media culture, postcolonialism and global capitalism.

Dr. Sarah Olutola also writes Young Adult novels and children's books under the pen name Sarah Raughley. Her novels include The Effigies Series (Simon Pulse), The Bones of Ruin Trilogy (Margaret K. McElderry Books) and the upcoming The Queen's Spade Duology (Harper Teen).
