Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Medicine, McMaster University

Sarrah Lal is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. Here she leads various educational programs and courses in health innovation and entrepreneurship at the Michael G. DeGroote Initiative for Innovation in Healthcare. These include Health Ventures, Clinical Health Innovation Program (CHIP), Frameshift Innovations Lab, and the Innovators in Scrubs. She is head of the Leadership & Management team in the Faculty of Health Science Program for Faculty Development and a MacPherson Institute Leadership in Teaching & Learning Fellow. Her research interests include virtual education, innovator psychology, and commercialization in academic settings.

Sarrah has professional experience in data analytics and consulting across a number of sectors, as well as an educational background in chemical biology, clinical research, biomedical engineering, and business. She is President and Chair of the Board for Head Injury Rehabilitation Ontario and Vice-Chair of the Canadian College of Health Leaders Hamilton & Area Chapter.
