Seraphim Alvanides

Associate Professor, Northumbria University, Newcastle

I am a social geographer, with expertise in quantitative methods and Geographical Information Systems/Science. My research and teaching interests involve the analysis of large spatial data related to urban sprawl, active transport (walking & cycling) and linguistic landscapes. The substantive question driving my research is to what extent the environment (broadly defined) influences individual behaviours and outcomes. I am associate editor for the journal Heliyon Environment and co-editor for the journal Environment & Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science (SAGE).
