PhD Researcher, King's College London

I am a PhD candidate in the department of Comparative Literature at King’s College London. In my PhD research, I explore the construction of contemporary female Arab Gulf identity and how it has changed specifically in relation to the discovery of oil in the region.

My previous academic qualifications include a BA degree attained at the University of Bahrain in English Language and Literature with a minor in American Studies, and an MA from the University of Warwick in English and Comparative Literary Studies. I have worked as a part-time newsreader and editor for Bahrain International television (2010-2018), and as an instructor at Bahrain Teachers College from (2013-2018).
