Sharon Tennyson is an economist whose research addresses economic and policy issues in retail markets, particularly the impact of government laws and regulations on insurance firms, consumers and markets. Her research has been published in academic journals and in prestigious edited collections, and has received numerous awards. She is Editor of the International Review of Financial Consumers and a Senior Associate Editor of Journal of Risk and Insurance. She is a former President of the Risk Theory Society and former Director of the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs. She is a noted expert on insurance regulation and insurance fraud.
