Shauna Hurley is a researcher and adviser to the Editor in Chief of the Cochrane Collaboration, and the producer of Cochrane Australia’s popular podcast series The Recommended Dose. Shauna has worked as a researcher, science communication adviser and freelance writer for a broad range of government, health, publishing and media organisations in Australia and the UK. She is currently writing an update of a WHO report into the role of communications to promote and support physical distancing for COVID-19 prevention and control.

From the European Bank of Reconstruction to the Guinness Book of Records, Shauna has written on everything from complex international affairs to the most curious of human feats, and many topics in between. She has a long-standing interest in current affairs, health and public policy, and has published articles, discussion papers and information campaign materials for Australian government and global health organisations.
