Reader (Associate Professor) in Psychology, University of York

Silke is a Reader at the Department of Psychology, University of York (UK), and a Visiting Professor at the Department of Special Needs Education at the University of Oslo, Norway. In York, she leads the Numerical Cognition Lab and directs the MSc in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience.

Her main areas of research include early predictors of later mathematical development, linguistic influences on number processing and arithmetic, associations between representations of space and number, mathematical difficulties and the neural bases of number processing and arithmetic. She has co-authored a textbook giving an Introduction to Mathematical Cognition.
