Siqin (Sisi) Wang

PhD and Research Assistant, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, The University of Queensland

My background is rooted in urban planning (Bachelor), GIS (Master) and urban geography and demography (PhD). My research interest is urban morphology, urban geography, spatial analysis, migration, residential mobility, built environment, 3D modelling and visualisation, GIS application in transportation and social science. I am always looking at various phenomena particularly from the urban geographic perspective. The current projects I am doing include the impact of built environment on travel demand and behaviour, the impact of urban space on physical, mental and self-assessed health, 3D visualisation of traffic crash and migrant's settlement pathway, evaluation of fare change policy by smart-card big data, and the determinants of neighbourhood complaints. I hope to integrate 'spatial thinking' to inter-disciplinary research since geography matters!
