Presidential Academic Fellow in Medical Humanitarianism, University of Manchester

I work on grassroots medical humanitarianism in countries experiencing political unrest and conflict. I research how healthcare workers organise themselves when a conflict erupts, and how they try to keep themselves and their patients safe from attacks on healthcare. My work has thus far predominantly covered Egypt's uprising, and the conflicts in Syria and Ukraine.
