I am an anatomist and biological anthropologist specializing in Maya bioarchaeology.

My research investigates the interaction of biology and culture through analysis of human skeletal remains among the ancient Maya. In particular, I investigate violence and warfare, mortuary practices, migration patterns, diet and health, and deliberate body modification such as tooth filing and cranial modification.
