Steph (they/them) is a SSHRC funded Killam Scholar completing their PhD in Health at Dalhousie, the Project Coordinator for the Moving Forward Together: Unsettling Racism, Silence and Violence in Health and Social Services project and the Director of Research and Fund Development at Leave Out ViolencE (LOVE) Nova Scotia. A mindful self-compassion teacher in training, Steph is motivated by insatiable curiosity and a commitment to ‘holding space’ as a pre-requisite to developing meaningful connections within, between, and all around us. Invested in understanding links between intergenerational trauma and ongoing oppression, Steph interprets gender-based violence, in the broadest sense, as a symptom of white supremacy.
