Stephen Scott is Professor of Child Health and Behaviour at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London and Director of the National Academy for Parenting Research. He enjoys working with children from 3 to 18 years as a consultant psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital and carries out research trials to discover the best way parents can improve the happiness, adjustment and achievement of their children. He is an author of the bestselling textbook, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Goodman and Scott, 3rd edition). In 2014 he was made a Commander of the British Empire by the Queen, in 2017 he was elected a Fellow of The Academy of Medical Sciences. He is President of the charity the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH).
