Stephen Turnock

Stephen Turnock is Professor of Maritime Fluid Dynamics at the University of Southampton and is Head of Civil, Maritime and Environmental Engineering. His interests are in ship powering and decarbonisation, marine renewables, ship autonomy, performance sport and ship hydrodynamics including manoeuvring. He has co-authored two textbooks. One on Ship resistance and Propulsion (CUP, 2nd Ed 2017) and one on Marine Rudders and Control Surfaces (B-H, 2007, 2nd Ed due sept 2021). He teaches on the Maritime Engineering and Ship Science programmes and is a member of the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute.
