I am a medical microbiologist with interest in infectious diseases, public health, traditional medicines and alternative medicine. After finishing my PhD, I worked for an Industry for one year, the Indian Council of Medical Research (Bhubaneswar) for 10 years and for the University College of Medicine, Malawi for 2 years prior to settling in Sydney where I worked for the NSW Public Health for 4 years before taking up an academic position with the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) at Macquarie University in 2000. Currently I am an Associate Professor at Macquarie University and am also the Deputy Associate Dean (HDR) for the FSE and Chair of the University Biosafety Committee.
