Visiting Professor and Law Foundation of Ontario Scholar, University of Windsor

Sukanya Pillay is an international and Canadian constitutional lawyer with twenty years of experience in the field. Most recently, she held senior positions at a national nonprofit civil liberties organization in Canada as Executive Director, General Counsel, and National Security Director. Pillay was one of two in-house Counsel for a multinational telecommunications company in Asia, a law Professor in Canada, and an original director of WITNESS with the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights (Human Rights First) in New York. She is a member of the Ontario Bar, has an LL.M. In international legal studies from NYU Law, and a Canadian LL.B and B.A.

Pillay has participated in numerous television and radio news broadcasts, has written for leading Canadian media outlets and recently completed a Fellowship in Global Journalism at the Munk School of Global Affairs, University of Toronto as the inaugural Maytree Scholarand is the recipient of numerous awards.
