SSHRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Gordon E. Lang School of Business and Economics, University of Guelph

Dr. Susan Dupej is a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Guelph in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, in the Gordon E. Lang School of Business and Economics.

She is an Economic Geographer with a PhD in Geography from York University (2016). Her background is in tourism, rural economic development, agritourism and tourism marketing.

Her current research investigates how cannabis legalization opens up new possibilities that impact the tourism industry around the world.

Research Projects in Progress:

* Cannabis Tourism as Social Responsibility: Supplier Best Practices in Canada (postdoctoral research)

* Understanding the Cannabis Tourist: Market Research on Prospective Travel to Canada (industry research with New Heights Cannabis)

* Cannabis Farmgate Sales in Canada and Opportunities for the Tourism Industry: A Value Chain Perspective (SSHRC Insight Development Grant)

Dr. Dupej has taught a variety of undergraduate courses including Human Geography, Economic Geography, Tourism Geography, Resources and the Environment, and is currently teaching International Tourism at the University of Guelph.
