Susan E Wardell

Susan Wardell is a lecturer at the University of Otago, in Social Anthropology Programme. Her background is in social anthropology and communication studies, with interest areas including sociocultural perspectives on care, empathy, emotion, wellbeing, mental health, and disability. Recent work has focused on digital worlds and social media communication; including a Marsden Fund project on online medical crowdfunding

She is also an award-winning essayist and poet.
