I am an associate professor of political science at the University of Mississippi. I received my Ph.D. in political science at Emory University and bachelor's degree from Guilford College. I have a forthcoming book from Oxford University Press -- Bargaining in the UN Security Council.
In my research, I explore how states wield their power in the international system with particular focus on economic sanctions and air power. Different projects contribute to scholarship on international institutions and the human consequences of military and economic conflict. I have published articles in International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Peace Research, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Political Research Quarterly, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and International Interactions.
