Susan Harkness is a Professor of Public Policy at the University of Bristol. She is a co-investigator at the ESRC funded Research Centre on Micro Social Change (MiSOC) and a visiting professor at the London School of Economics. She is interested in how income inequality and poverty are shaped by gender and family structure. Using quantitative methods, she focuses on disadvantaged groups, including part-time and low-paid workers, and single-mother families.
